Zebra Collection
Zebra designs look incredible in a natural habitat as well as in many interior design spaces. Like a super model, one never tires of looking at them. White and black are a fantastic option when creating a statement in an interior space and a long term commitment to purchasing artwork. White is the sum of all colors and black is the absence of light, therefore, the absence of all colors. When committing to zebra compositions, virtually any color pallet can be altered and explored. These modular panel options offers flexibility for reconfiguring the art work as one’s needs might change over the years.
Like a thumb print, no one zebra is the same. I believe that when people look at zebras, they have the same affect as people watching people. People love watching people and love looking at zebras.
Zebras are social animals.
When I see a zebra drink from a pond and see its reflection, it reminds me of the novel Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse. I think about it as a graceful journey of self-awakening just like in Buddhist culture. Siddhartha would stare at his reflection to find the answers for his own life.
The black and white stripes have different functions for zebras. They become efficient cooling and heating systems in the varying temperatures of their natural environment. Black absorbs heat while white exudes heat. The stripes confuse the flies, so zebras do not get bitten by insects as often as other animals might.
Zebras find their strength in numbers. They often travel in herds. Because their stripes all seem to blur together, they can confuse predators like lions.
The stripes on zebras are both random and mesmerizing, when looking down on a zebra at a birds eye view, splendid patterns appear.
